people are being born faster than they can die, with help from modern medical advances. eventually humanity may ascend to a near-immortal state, at which time the need to propogate the species will diminish, and sex will become an activity only intended for pleasure.

dude - I read this book 10 or so years ago.. damn! I wish I could recall the name of it!

anyways, this idea is explored and the question asked - "Why don't we look at death as soemthing that needs to be cured?"

most of societies ills are brought about by our fear of the end. perhaps we could have peace if we weren't trying to compensate for our ultimate end.

interesting thoughts, bro.. I'll tell you if I think of the name of that book.. wish I had never parted with it (kinda like my book of the subgenious)!!!
