people are being born faster than they can die, with help from modern medical advances. eventually humanity may ascend to a near-immortal state, at which time the need to propogate the species will diminish, and sex will become an activity only intended for pleasure.

3:54pm: meh, i like this...
One night a soldier looked up into the heavens and made a plea to God. "God i'm so alone down here, all I do is fight and face the deamons of the earth please send me someone" So God called forth his angels and asked them to help create a soldiers girl. "Boss give her strength!" cried Michael "So that she can bear the weight and pressure of always packing up and going with her man at a moments notice" God was pleased and added strengh. "She must have patience!" called forth Gabreail "So that she can have the understanding of the stress of the job that is required of her man" God was pleased and added patience. Peter thought about it and said "let her be compasionate, so that she can sooth away the nightmares and horrors that the soldier will see" God was pleased and added compassion. Jesus went forth and said "dad give her faith, faith that her man will come home to her, that he loves her and that no matter what it takes he will get home to her" God was pleased and added faith. All the saints and angels looked and said "God she's perfect! she is beautiful and she is the one for the soldier".....a small angel took a closer look and saw a tear falling down from women...he look up and said "God she's crying, why are you making tears for her?" God looked down and said "I didn't put that there" To love a soldier is to take on the hardest task in all the world.

when i arrived in iraq, i was not aware that i had taken along with me a certain "passenger". but as i unpacked my belongings in my new room, i felt a wave madening terror rush over me as i approached my final bag. as i undid the zipper, i was face to face with infinite horror. i was overwhelmed by this creature, but before i knew what i had encountered, the thing pounced upon me. i resisted with all i could muster, but alas, the beast got the best of me. as i collapsed exhausted physicly and mentally, it began to drill utter madness directly into my brain. my demise was certain. visions began flooding my mind, visions of myself in service to the creature! dancing half naked, around bonfires beneath the gibbous moon! and there were others with me. together we served our Master and disposed of all who would seek to stop us! i then rose to my feet, laughing madly! of course i would serve my new Master! the world around me begain dissolving, and took on new dimensions and meaning! i could see things invisible to others! hear the whispers of the old ones that echoed from beyond the stars! i begain to cry out in a strange tongue i was unaware i even knew! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! "In His House at R'lyeh Dead Cthulhu waits dreaming, yet He shall rise and His kingdom shall cover the Earth."

happy 4th, etc... nothing much new, asu usual :( im still being a meathead and doing the gym thing. hovering about the same weight for the past week plus or minus a pound. its a good thing, becasue a few years ago i would have dramatic changes in the course of a day. but anyway, hope the 4th was fun and stuff. its as good as it can be here i suppose. kind of a day off, mostly mandatory fun. they did barbeque though, and given the host country, they had a lot of arabic food. arabic food is really, really good. i totally recommend it. we didnt get fireworks though, probably obvious reasons behind that. heh.

nothing much new lately. im pretty much just counting down the days until i leave this place. right now its about 4 and a half months till i go back to germany. until then its just the same old playing army stuff ive done the whole time ive been here. my little gym routine is getting a bit more serious, and producing better results. working out more often and at a greater intensity is doing good. my partner used to be a professional body builder, so hes hooking me up with good info. it must also look pretty ridiculous. the biggest and smallest people in my company working out...heh. since last week ive put on 4 pounds, which is pretty cool. other than that, much else happening. 4 more months, and im really anxious to leave.

ah well, my vacation is over. just packing up and getting ready to go catch my flight. had a lot of fun...too bad i have to leave so soon. got more pictures up from massachusetts, as well as the others i already uploaded... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v217/xspaceninjax/stateside%20invasion%202006/saw the sox game on thursday, which was my first trip to fenway park. getting there was in itself an adventure. we almost missed the train, forgot the tickets, had to hop a train back to get them, but still made it in time for the game. bill and i just drank and heckled the tampa bay right fielder the whole time. good times. eh, the next day i was back in boston to see nellie. might remember her from a few years ago. the girl i was seeing, who messed around behind my back, got pregnant and then left me. how sweet. well, she drove all the way from new york to visit, so thought i would at least go see how she was doing. we got a few drinks, went to the aquarium (i havent been there in forever) and all that crap. anyways, left there about 6ish to make it back to gloucester. went out that night with bill and jeremy to go drinking. i cant remember too much, since it was the first time in a while i really got drunk. bill dissapeared off to mitch's, and i hung out with jer till the bar closed. on the way back to his house, took this cool picture... credit to jer for spotting that, though im surprised how good it came out considering how drunk i was, and glad i didnt drop my camera in the water...heh. saturday saw the new x-men movie. i thought it was pretty cool. also cant wait to see "snakes on a plane". with a title that ridiculous, its got to be good...i think. sunday and monday werent too exciting. my cousins jessica and rachel had graduated college, so we had a party for them on sunday. saw the family and all that good stuff. everytime i visit though, it seems like theres more relatives i dont remember. finally left on tuesday, and been in florida since. ive had fun the 2 weeks ive been here, and now i get to go suffer through another 6 months in kuwait. its gonna be boring and hor, but at least i dont have to worry much about getting blown up or something.

if this were a game of D&D, id be rocking a little asterisk right next to my M16 qualification thingy. went out friday to a range, and with no zeroing or any other bullshit, just flat out qualifying, i went and popped 38 out of 40. the 2 misses were very close. should be perfect next time i get a go. well, tuesday i get to leave this god forsaken country for a little while for a much needed break. ive about had it with this place for now. the stress of the army life out here, as well as the stresses of my personal life, i really need to get away from it all just for a bit. I'm keeping my composure, but its getting hard to maintain. not much else happening. when i go home i need to buy a new camera since i broke my old one. ill be sure to post up some pictures of my antics back home. be sure to find me on yahoo or AIM as well. when im not out ill be getting my fix of the internet. yahoo - evilcarlson2000 AIM - Evil Carlson

oh, and heres a really dope panoramic shot of paris in the evening http://www.arnaudfrichphoto.com/paris-panoramique-360-110.htmim pretty sure it was taken from in front of notre dame, though that should be kind of obvious since it takes up a good portion of the shot

its been pretty difficut to get in touch with her lately. not sure if she hasnt answered my phone calls because it comes up a private number, i have crappy timing, or some other reason id rather not mention =\ im really trying to downplay my fears here... i think this is just one of those inevitable things that happens with me. lousy relationships in the past have made me come to expect a person to just dissapear without any reason, or getting tired of me, and running off with someone else. ive called this my curse, and its been holding pretty steady for about 4 years now. hopefully im just playing this all up in my head and i have nothing to worry about, and all things considered, thats probably the case. i just hate this feeling of anxiety and wish i could figure out some way to shake it.

so, kuwait. tis a sandy place. im enjoying the change in temperature though. not a whole lot to say about the place though. just run through the usual army routine, trying to be busy to avoid bullshit work. sleep in a tent full of people at night. its looking like thats my routine for a while. i read something in the paper out here, apparently we're merely standby just incase we have to go north. not a terrible thing, at least its safe here, just real boring. my only source of entertainment was damaged on the trip here. my laptops LCD screen got cracked, and just a few days ago the whole screen finally went. just waiting a few more weeks for my new one, as well as a replacement screen. laptop moniters are easier to remove than i thought. ive taken a few pictures out here, though theres not much to take pictures of other than sand and army folk. the sunsets are pretty amazing though. im waiting to get better net access to upload those. but like i said, not much to say about the place. im doing well, just searching for wasy to pass the time.
